Nationwide Children's Hospital Columbus, Ohio

This five phase backfill project includes the demolition and build-out of a timeshare clinic, pharmacy, sibling care center, and high profile public entrance to the majority of the hospital’s outpatient service offerings.  This first phase was the demolition and build-out of the timeshare clinic and main outpatient public entrance.

With 80% of outpatient services being accessed through the front door of this project, the attention to detail/documentation and phasing had to be exceptional.  Additionally, the timeshare clinic required working with multiple users to meet their specific needs while making the space flexible and functional for all, with the Neurotranslational Research Therapy Clinic being a very specialized clinic within the suite.

As the 6th project with Nationwide Children’s Hospital, our thorough understanding of their standards and Director of Interior Design’s philosophy, helped minimize RFIs (5 total for the project) and change orders; and with a prompt turnaround of all submittals, reduced the overall schedule time.  This first phase, 10,850 SF of total gut demolition and renovation, completed in 15 weeks from contract award to occupancy; two weeks ahead of schedule, with no operational shutdowns of existing clinic services.
