This replacement hospital consists of 13,000 SF of new hospital space and features state-of-the-art animal treatment and diagnostic components along with 7,000 SF Animal Nutrition Center developed as a bid alternate.

Program elements include Sterile Surgery, Treatment, Radiology, Pharmacy, Necropsy and convalescent holding areas. The holding areas are specifically designed to accommodate the unique size, temperament and biology of the park’s 2,200 different animals.

Upon visiting the Animal Care Center, visitors can look into the Treatment, Clinical Lab, and Surgery Suite, while simultaneously being educated on animal health and well-being by veterinarians and staff using the built in A/V communication capabilities.  A functional kitchen set built into the Care facility allows for daily presentations to the public on animal nutrition.  This space also provides A/V so as to make the food preparation experience totally accessible to viewers in the audience.
