SeaWorld AbuDhabi

This 181,100 square meter entertainment park included a new building with the most advanced medical facilities for both the park animals and regionally rescued animals in need of care. The park will have two independent medical facilities catering to advancing the care of animals and raising awareness on conservation. DesignLeveL was responsible for the planning and design of the Animal Care Center (ACC) and the Research, Rescue, Rehabilitate, and Release Facility (R4), while teamed with PGAV and AECOM.

The stories of animal health, conservation, and reproduction are key to the mission of SeaWorld; therefore the animal care center is located in the core of the park, providing viewing windows and educational opportunities to the public. Direct, up-front viewing with full height glass allow visitors to experience the daily activities that occur in the diagnostics lab, surgery, treatment room, radiology room, and CT room.

The incorporation and orchestration of specialty water treatment systems, HVAC, and clear staff/patient circulation contribute to the recovery rate of patients. The services and care provided by the ACC and R4 will elevate the care of animals not only regionally but nationally.

Key programing includes:  MRI/CT room, radiology room, surgery rooms, treatment rooms, clean room, diagnostic labs, reproductive lab, microbiology lab, ICU, and support spaces.
